QIOs are also promoting RAM to their local providers and Medicare and Medicaid
beneficiaries in their publications and in online E-Newsletters. Here are

California - Lumetra
Lumetra has developed a number of resources to assist providers and community groups in their diabetes outreach to the Latino community. All materials are available for download and distribution to patients and families.

Indiana - PBS Station WFYI
WFYI in Indianapolis, working with Health Care Excel, the state's Quality Improvement Organization and its statewide coalition, has developed eight "quick tips" for consumers addressing these issues.

Mississippi - IQH, Information & Quality Healthcare
Carole Kelly, Communications Manager for IQH is Mississippi continues to promote RAM through its "Quality Matters" E-Newsletter for members. See examples of her effective efforts on the publications page of their site.

KETC, the public television station in St. Louis, Missouri and Primaris
Health, the state Quality Improvement Organization have teamed up to produce a four-part series entitled Remaking Missouri Medicine which is currently airing and will re-broadcast in September with the RAM series premiere. Their series focuses on local Champions of Change and reflects the content of the national series.For example, Program One focuses on chronic disease management and features Dr. Tom Landholt of Springfield, Missouri, a Champion of Change who has integrated electronic medical records into his practice. An early innovator in endorsing technology for patient care, Dr. Landholt has improved the efficiency of patient services and
decreased medical errors in his practice. For more information

RAM Coalition Activity Tracking Form - Primaris Health and KETC/St. Louis developed a Coalition Activity Report that allows partners to report outcomes, track distribution of consumer-related print materials and gauge participant feedback.

North Carolina - The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence
The Carolina QIOs higlighted innovative healthcare professionals in North Carolina. They created a series of four video clips, 'Transforming North Carolina Healthcare', to spotlight "Change Leaders" in the state. Innovative "Change Leaders" in four healthcare settings are featured in nursing home, home health, hospital, and physician offices. Video Clips and more information here (on the medqic.org site):

South Carolina - South Carolina ETV

South Dakota RAM Coalition
“Power to the Patients”
The South Dakota RAM coalition has produced a brochure (in both English and Spanish) that provides useful tips on how consumers can better manage their health care. It also includes a handy checklist that allows patients to track their medications and dosages. This is a good example of a brochure which targets consumers that you can easily replicate for promotional purposes.

Virginia
The QIO, Virginia Health Quality Center (VHQC), along with PBS stations WCVE and WCVW in Richmond, and WHTJ in Charorlottesville have developed their "Health Care Passport" -- which will be distributed it at their RAM community forums to both participants and viewers. VHQC will be distributing to providers that they serve. It will also be available on their respective Web sites for viewers
of RAM and local programming.
